Workshops
All Playful workshops are in-person and require between 2-4 hours with your team. My workshops are a combination of experience-based & research-backed informational sessions + hands-on playful learning experiences. Workshops typically require some set up ahead of time and may require audio/video capability.
Nature Play
In-Person Workshop | 2 hours
Our Nature Play Workshop borrows inspiration from TimberNook, an innovative outdoor play program founded by author & occupational therapist, Angela Hanscom. We also draw from our own experiences with open ended outdoor play. Parents and educators will leave feeling empowered and inspired. Some key topics may include: the importance of nature play, understanding risky play, nature’s benefits on childhood development and staging inspiring play environments.
*minimal set-up required
Loose Parts
In-Person Workshop | 4 hours
Loose parts can be defined as any open-ended material, natural or manufactured, that can be moved and manipulated by children to create.
Why use loose parts in your classroom or on the playground? These materials allow children to tap into their natural curiosities, participate in meaningful inquiry-based learning experiences and be creative. In this workshop, your team can gain a deeper understanding of the inquiry process, see and experience real examples of loose parts & how they can be used across multiple ages.
*one hour set-up required
Outdoor Art
In-Person Workshop | 2 hours
Process art with children requires a designated "SAY YES" area. Moving art activities outside can help you stress less about the mess and say YES to the fun!
In this workshop, we will try out some of our favorite hands-on, full-body, sensory-rich art experiences. You will also leave with new ideas and inspiration for various ways to include art in your everyday outdoor play.
*one hour set-up required

Trainings
My trainings can be offered in-person or virtual. Each training is roughly 1-2 hours in length. Virtual trainings are via Zoom. Typical training flow includes an informational session, Q & A session, and relative downloadable resources.
All trainings & workshops can be customized to meet the needs and requests of your program.
Play-Based Basics
Virtual or In-Person | 60-90 min
Play-Based Basics is inspired by Play Guru Peter Gray and the child-led superstar, Lisa Murphy. This is a jam-packed training. Some key topics include: WHY play is so critical for child-development, how to make time for play in your program, how to follow their lead and say no to themes, PLUS an intro to using observations to guide you in planning for play. *This training can be turned into a workshop for a deeper understanding of concepts.
Understanding Reggio
Virtual or In-Person | 60-90 min
Early childhood philosophies from Reggio Emilia, Italy are unique and vast. They are deeply embedded in the culture of the people & community. Because of the richness of the philosophy, we can only consider ourselves and our programs to be INSPIRED. In this training, we will break down some of the key components of Reggio practices and determine how we can use these ideas to transform your learning environment.
